Mårten Bäckman is an experienced executive with a strong background in international commercial and operational leadership roles within the telecom and IT services sectors. He has extensive experience leading change in global organizations, driving cross-functional initiatives, and managing multinational service contracts and complex business relationships.
During nearly ten years of his career at Ericsson, Mårten led Global Sourcing for Services and Indirect Spend, overseeing major process and organizational outsourcing projects, sourcing transformations, and M&A activities. Over the following twelve years, he held senior leadership roles in Managed Services — heading contract operations, shaping and deploying turnaround strategies, and ultimately leading global sales for Network Managed Services.
In recent years, Mårten has focused on business development and advisory within enterprise digitalisation across multiple industries. His expertise spans IT and connectivity infrastructure, ecosystem development with system integrators and application partners, and supporting customers in defining business value in AI-based use cases.
Mårten’s advises clients combining strategic insight with hands on operational execution, within enterprise digitalisation, commercial strategy and business development, service contract management, sourcing and supply chain optimization. He is skilled at aligning business, technology, and supplier ecosystems to drive measurable impact.
He holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Industrial Automation and is a certified Board Director.
